MARTIAL ARTS: MY JOURNEY

My martial arts journey began around the age of 5 years old when my family signed me up for Shotokan karate. After years of training and competing in the discipline, at the age of 18, I was awarded my Shodan black belt by the Japanese Karate Association. At the age of 13, I began training in Muay Thai, brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA. After earning my black belt in karate, I began extensively training in brazilian jiu jitsu, muay thai, kickboxing, wrestling and MMA.

I have trained and travelled in many international fight camps including Canada, United States, Thailand, Japan, Cambodia and Singapore.

Michael has competed in JKA karate fights, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and MMA. I continue training my students of all levels helping them achieve their training goals.

2018 IBJJF TORONTO GOLD

In 2018, Michael Macki competed and won a gold medal at the IBJJF Toronto Open.

2015 JKA Nationals Kumite Bronze

In 2015, Michael competed and earned a bronze medal at the 2015 Japan Karate Association Canadian Nationals in kumite.

SK11 Fight Winner MMA

In 2023, Michael fought at Skorpion Kombat 11 MMA event in Hamilton, ON, Canada. Michael won his MMA bout in a spectacular barn – burner fight.
